The postings in this blog will only be black and white photos I feel are particularly interesting or appealing in my opinion. I usually shoot them in the monochrome setting on the DSLR. I realize the sensor is picking up color, but I like the monochrome setting of the DSLR verses changing it afterword. Although, there are times I use Tonality for MacOS to convert them, but usually not. Hardware used: Canon SL1 DSLR w/Canon 24-135mm lens; Panasonic FZ2500. Hope you enjoy.

Hand Held Moon

Feb. 11, 2005 I purchased a Canon SL1 DSLR. It came with an additional 55-250mm lens with Image Stabilization. I unpacked the camera, attached the 250mm lens. Stepped into our back yard and while leaving the camera on Program, I zoomed to 250mm and took this picture of the moon without a tripod. Hard to believe, but this is a handheld shot. The IS worked fantastic.
