Yellow Roses for My Wife

Feb. 16, 2015
I bought these yellow roses for my Wife just because she's the best. Took some pictures of them at the time. This was always my favorite B&W I shot of them because of the focal differences between the rose's and the vase.

Lives Another Day

Feb. 12, 2015.
I almost stepped on this little guy out in our front yard. As I looked down, it was standing there all by itself and it appealed to me. I grabbed my camera and laid down on the ground and took this picture. It's still one of my favorite photos to this day.

Hand Held Moon

Feb. 11, 2005 I purchased a Canon SL1 DSLR. It came with an additional 55-250mm lens with Image Stabilization. I unpacked the camera, attached the 250mm lens. Stepped into our back yard and while leaving the camera on Program, I zoomed to 250mm and took this picture of the moon without a tripod. Hard to believe, but this is a handheld shot. The IS worked fantastic.

Frostie

This photo was shot out of focus on purpose. Frostie, a pure white Scottish Terrier, was our youngest Son's dog. She was so sweet and loved him so much. She was fantastic and was his first real pet of his own. They were inseparable. She followed him around everywhere and was so loyal to him. I would say instead of her being Man's best friend, our Son was Frostie's best friend. Sadly, when she was only 3 years old, we took her to the Vet and she received a combo vaccinations shot. The next day her entire body became very hot. Over the next week she was in and out of the Vet, until she finally had to be put to sleep the following Saturday morning. It was devastating to our Son. We all miss Frostie.

Blog Background Picture

The first picture should be that of my background. I have peppered our back yard with items from the past. The Red Flyer reminds me of my Grandmother's homes whenever I see it. It also reminds me when we used to take our young kids up to my Parent's home and my Dad would pull the grandkids around in a wagon just like this. They would laugh and laugh, then eventually the wagon would dump over or someone would fall out. My Dad always pulled them slow enough so when it happened, no one got hurt and the kids would end up in a pile on the ground laughing away asking Papa to pull them again.
